MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – Young yet professionally competent people should be put in charge of various industries and spheres. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the relevant statement as he appointed a number of law enforcement officers on 12 May, BelTA has learned.
The head of state remarked that the need to renew the workforce and take care of the alternation of generations remains one of his uncompromising requirements. “New young people should be put in charge of government agencies, spheres, and industries. Because people of the older generation cannot last forever. If we want to achieve results, we need vigorous people,” the Belarusian leader is convinced.
Alexander Lukashenko remarked that this approach applies to all spheres, including the power vertical and sport. “This year we will give a shake to the current workforce and will see. Those, who can work, can keep working. Those, who cannot, are going to be replaced with younger professionals with experience, who grew up after Belarus became independent,” noted the president.
“It is unavoidable. This is why we invite the new generation to manage all spheres in the country. Particularly security, the army, and so on. You are trained people. Fresher views on processes in this field are needed. It is only natural,” said the head of state.
Speaking about the tasks the newly appointed officers of Belarusian law enforcement agencies face, Alexander Lukashenko mentioned investigative work in the Interior Ministry. According to the president, it is necessary to take it to the next level. “We should combine everything from the precinct police officer to the top-ranking officers and create a new leaner system,” said the head of state. “It is the basics. Without it no fight against criminals and crime is possible. Without it no public security is possible.”
