Belarus president arrives in China on state visit

BEIJING, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in the People's Republic of China on a state visit. The aircraft with the Belarusian head of state on board landed in the Beijing Capital International Airport, BelTA has learned.

While in China the Belarusian head of state is expected to meet with China President Xi Jinping. About 30 international documents on advancing cooperation in political, economic, and social affairs are expected to be signed as a result of the talks.

The two leaders are expected to sign a joint declaration to determine the level of the bilateral relations and the main directions of advancing Belarus-China relations.

In Beijing Alexander Lukashenko will also meet with Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang, and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng.

Apart from that, the Belarus President will visit the Peking University where he is expected to meet with representatives of the university administration and students. Alexander Lukashenko will answer their questions.

A large Belarusian delegation arrived in Beijing the day before. The delegation includes members of the government, heads of ministries and government agencies, and directors of major Belarusian industrial enterprises. A number of fruitful meetings and negotiations with Chinese partners have already been held.
