Belarus, Kazakhstan sign agreement on social, economic cooperation till 2026

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on social and economic cooperation till 2026 in addition to a program on social and economic cooperation in the same period as a result of official negotiations in the Palace of Independence in Minsk on 29 November, BelTA has learned. The agreement was signed by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Alexander Lukashenko said: “We've discussed a broad range of matters and signed a number of documents, including an agreement on social and economic cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan. This policy document is supposed to bolster the future relations of the two countries till 2026 and open up new opportunities for advancing cooperation across the board. Apart from that, international documents regulating manufacturing, scientific and technical cooperation, sport, and mass media were signed as well.”

Belarus and Kazakhstan signed intergovernmental agreements on manufacturing cooperation, scientific and technical cooperation of defense contractors and on cooperation in the sphere of mass media.

An agreement was signed on scientific and technical cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.

The signed documents also include a plan on cooperation between the Belarusian and Kazakhstani ministries of foreign affairs in 2018-2019, a 2018-2019 program on cooperation in physical training and sport between the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry and the Kazakhstani Culture and Sport Ministry, a memorandum of understanding in cooperation in cultural affairs between the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Kazakhstani Culture and Sport Ministry.
