Belarus interested in maintaining growing dynamics of cooperation with European Union

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in maintaining the growing dynamics of cooperation with the European Union. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he received credentials from ambassadors of foreign nations on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko noted: “This year has brought positive changes in normalizing our relations with the European Union. There is no doubt we are interested in enhancing mutual relations as much as possible, in maintaining the growing dynamics of our cooperation.”

Establishing good neighborly relations with Poland has been and is one of the most important tasks of the Belarus government, said Alexander Lukashenko as he accepted credentials from Ambassador of Poland to Belarus Konrad Pawlik. “Apart from the common border we have well-developed trade, economic, and regional cooperation as well as common responsibility for security in the region,” stressed the head of state.

Slovakia is another promising partner of Belarus in the European Union. “We appreciate your country's contribution to enabling a new atmosphere for normalizing Belarus-EU relations. We expect that during its presidency in the Council of the European Union in H2 2016 Slovakia will facilitate further advancement of our ties with the European Union. We hope for stronger bilateral cooperation,” said the President as he accepted credentials from Ambassador of Slovakia to Belarus Jozef Migas.

In an interview with mass media Konrad Pawlik and Jozef Migas mentioned the presence of new opportunities for advancing cooperation with Belarus in various fields and the need to fill cooperation with concrete projects.
