Begun dismissed as deputy emergencies minister of Belarus

MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – Dmitry Begun has been relieved of the post of the deputy emergencies minister of Belarus for activities bringing discredit on the workers of emergencies bodies. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed a corresponding decree on 2 May, BelTA learned form the press service of the Belarusian leader.

It was reported that Dmitry Begun is suspected of taking a bribe for commissioning a facility in spite of fire security violations.

At the meeting with workers of Kronospan companies in Mogilev on 21 March Alexander Lukashenko commented on this issue. “He took a bribe. They all were caught red-handed. Why take offense with me? All are equal before the law, including ministers and deputy ministers. He will face no less than eight years in prison,” the head of state noted.
