All secondary school programs to be revised in Belarus by 1 September

MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – All secondary school programs will be revised in Belarus by 1 September, Education Minister Igor Karpenko told Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

According to the minister, this work has been almost finished. At the same time, not all school books will be replaced at the beginning of the new academic year due to objective reasons. “We will analyze the contents of school books and determine what books can be used further, and what books shall be replaced. We will give recommendations in compliance with the new school programs,” Igor Karpenko said.

“You need to find out what books shall be replaced in the first place. And give recommendations regarding other books,” the president said.

One of the advance copies of the new school books and a modern technology of ‘live pictures' have been shown to the head of state. This technology allows reviving any picture with the help a smartphone to see additional video materials.

Alexander Lukashenko said that the design of books is also important. They should be beautiful and user-friendly at the same time. “We should not spare money for new books,” he said.

Besides, the president was informed about the educational portal with various materials and information for students, parents, and teachers.
