Working groups on Ukraine reconvene in Minsk

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) - The working groups of the trilateral contact group promoting peace settlement in Ukraine have resumed talks in Minsk, BelTA learned from the Twitter account of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is expected that they will be followed by a meeting of the trilateral contact group.

The previous talks on Ukraine were held in the Belarusian capital on 6 September. Martin Sajdik, the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine, stated then that the school armistice in the Donbass area helped reduce the number of ceasefire violations by 67%. The sides also discussed prospects and methods of separating forces and assets near Stanitsa Luganskaya and Zolotoye and the possibility of doing the same in new zones. The negotiators talked a lot about the protection of vital civilian infrastructure installations.
