Warring sides in Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast expected to disengage on 7 March

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Warring sides are expected to disengage near Stanitsa Luganskaya in Donetsk Oblast on 7 March. The possibility was discussed by the trilateral contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine during the meeting in Minsk on 1 March, BelTA learned from the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik.

According to Martin Sajdik, the sides have requested assistance with the disengagement procedure near Stanitsa Luganskaya on 7 March. Apart from that, the sides confirmed their adherence to the full withdrawal of heavy weapon systems, said the diplomat.

The trilateral contact group continued discussing the release of prisoners of war. Close attention was paid to creating a mechanism involving a third party, which will verify that after release some POWs do intend to stay in the territory they were confined to during the POW period.
