MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – The voter turnout during the elections to the municipal councils of deputies in Belarus totaled 63.66% as of 16:00, BelTA learned from representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus.
As many as 61.41% of the voters in Brest Oblast have cast their votes. Vitebsk Oblast reported 69.69%, Gomel Oblast — 68.19%, Grodno Oblast — 63.73%, Minsk Oblast — 63.58%, Mogilev Oblast — 69.22%, and the city of Minsk — 53.93%.
Elections to municipal councils of deputies are in progress in Belarus today. As many as 6,929,525 Belarusians are on the voter lists.
Over 22,000 people stand as candidates, vying for slightly more than 18,000 seats in the local councils of deputies.
