MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Vietnam hopes for the continuous support from Belarus in the international arena, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang said during the talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on 27 June, BelTA has learned.
The head of state thanked the Belarusian side for supporting Vietnam with the elections to a number of international organizations. “We hope that Belarus will continue to support our candidacy, particularly during the elections to the UN Security Council for 2020-2021,” Tran Dai Quang said.
Belarus and Vietnam have similar positions on key issues on the international agenda, actively support each other in international organizations. For example, Belarus supported Vietnam during the election to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for 2016-2018 and the United Nations International Law Commission for 2017-2021.
