Venezuela president arrives in Belarus on official visit

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro has arrived in Belarus on an official visit. The aircraft with the Venezuelan head of state on board landed at Minsk National Airport, BelTA has learned.

At the airport Nicolas Maduro was welcomed by Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko.

It was reported earlier that the official negotiations of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro will take place at the Palace of Independence on 5 October. The heads of state will have a one-on-one meeting and an extended meeting with the members of the delegations. The parties will discuss a wide range of issues of the trade and economic cooperation, including the implementation of bilateral projects, the operation of joint assembly enterprises, the development of interaction in agriculture, construction, oil and gas industry, and other sectors. Special attention will be drawn to the international agenda.

It is expected that on 5 October Nicolas Maduro will also attend the ceremony to unveil a monument to Simon Bolivar, the national hero of Venezuela, in Minsk.
