Trilateral contact group on Ukraine resumes talks in Minsk

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – The trilateral contact group promoting the peace settlement in Ukraine has resumed talks in Minsk, BelTA learned from the Twitter account of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The previous meeting of the contact group took place on 15 May. During the meeting, OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik spoke about “a massive exchange” of prisoners of war in the context of the successful launch of a mechanism to verify the desires of the persons detained as a result of the conflict. The mechanism was launched on 28 April. On 15 May, the working group on security heard a report on progress in the investigation into the incident that took place on 23 April and killed one OSCE mission officer and left another two injured.
