Russia's State Duma speaker to attend Union State PA session in Minsk

MOSCOW, 14 June (BelTA) - Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin is coming to Minsk to attend a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the State Union of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the lower house of the Russian parliament.

On 14-15 June the Belarusian capital will host the events of the 52nd session of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly. Vyacheslav Volodin will chair a session of the PA Council on 14 June and a plenary meeting on 15 June.

The Union State MPs are expected to discuss the ways to harmonize the legislations of Belarus and Russia, the progress made in the implementation of the priority areas and overriding goals for the Union State development in 2014-2017 and also the development of a similar document for 2018-2022. Apart from that, MPs will talk over the issue of enhancing efficiency in the implementation of the Union State programs.

Attending the session will also be representatives of the Union State Permanent Committee, ministries and agencies of Belarus and Russia.

Vyacheslav Volodin was elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State on 26 December 2016.
