Putin ratifies Belarus-Russia protocol on unified immigration card

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the federal law on the ratification of the protocol amending and supplementing the agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on the unified immigration card, signed on 5 October 2004. The document was published on the official website of the Russian legal internet portal on 19 February, BelTA informs.

The protocol expands the categories of foreign nationals released from the obligation to fill out and submit immigration cards. Among them are foreign nationals temporarily or permanently residing in Russia or Belarus, and also crews of sea and river vessels entering sea and river ports of the said states.

Besides, on Belarus' initiative, the abovementioned group of people will also include foreign nationals crossing the state border of Belarus for a temporary stay on its territory without entering Russia.
