Prime ministers of Belarus, Russia spend hours discussing integration roadmaps

MOSCOW, 19 November (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas and Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev have been in negotiations for six hours already, BelTA has learned. The negotiations are taking place in Moscow.

Draft roadmaps on Belarus-Russia integration are the main theme of the talks. The negotiations have been held in a one-on-one format and involving members of the delegations of the two countries. The matter was also raised at the session of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia earlier today.

“Result-oriented work is in progress,” the press service of the Russian Federation government told BelTA while talking about the lengthy talks.

BelTA reported earlier that in early September the prime ministers of Belarus and Russia agreed a draft action program to implement the Union State Foundation Treaty and a list of roadmaps. The sides now have to work out 31 roadmaps to implement the action program. The Belarusian and Russian governments intend to present the draft roadmaps for the attention of the presidents by 1 December. The roadmaps will be signed by heads of government agencies while the action program on fulfilling the Union State Foundation Treaty will be signed by the heads of state.
