Preparations for Lukashenko's official visit to Tajikistan underway

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – The matters related to the preparations for an official visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Tajikistan were considered at the meeting between Belarus' Ambassador Oleg Ivanov and Tajikistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Aslov, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian embassy in Tajikistan, BelTA informs.

The parties also talked over the organization of Belarus' National Exhibition in Tajikistan and the second international business forum Belarus-Tajikistan-Afghanistan. The events are expected to be held during the visit of the Belarusian head of state.

Keeping in mind Sirodjidin Aslov' forthcoming trip to Minsk for the CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting, the parties considered the prospects of cooperation in integration associations.

A large-scale exhibition of Belarusian products and a business forum in Tajikistan were discussed during Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon's visit to Minsk in December 2017. Alexander Lukashenko said then: “The main thing is that we have agreed to organize a large-scale exhibition of our companies in Tajikistan in the near future, perhaps in spring, so that we could enter the Afghan and Pakistani markets together.”
