MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Preliminary results of the campaign to elect members of municipal councils of deputies in Belarus will be known by Monday morning, BelTA learned from Vadim Ipatov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Director of the National Center for Legislation and Legal Research.
“Bearing the experience of past election campaigns in mind, vote counting will begin right after the polling stations are closed. The first data will be submitted after midnight. Naturally, some preliminary picture will be available by the morning. But let me repeat it once again: a preliminary picture,” said the official.
The Belarusian election organization agency is supposed to discuss the main results of the elections on 23 February at the latest. A session of the Central Election Commission has been tentatively scheduled for that date. “We will have the final figures then,” said Vadim Ipatov.More about Politics
