Poland wants good neighborly relations with Belarus

MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Poland is determined to promote good neighborly relations with Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus following the meeting between Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Belarus Artur Michalski.

The parties discussed Belarus-Poland parliamentary contacts, trade and economic cooperation. Boleslav Pirshtuk told the Polish ambassador about Belarus' efforts to promote its tourism industry and the decision to extend the visa waiver to 30 days. “Artur Michalski, in turn, emphasized the need to pursue a good neighborhood policy and build trust between the two countries. He pointed to the importance of Belarus' decision to extend the visa-free stay for facilitating contacts between people,” the press service informed.

The parties discussed prospects of trade and economic cooperation taking into account strong potential to boost the bilateral trade. They also outlined plans to expand parliamentary contacts, including on international platforms and at the level of parliamentary working groups set up by the parliaments of the two countries.
