Nazarbayev suggests removing trade barriers in CIS

DUSHANBE, 28 September (BelTA – KAZINFORM) – Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested removing barriers to trade in the CIS at the CIS summit in Dushanbe on 28 September, the press service of the head of state informed.

Nursultan Nazarbayev identified a number of promising areas that will contribute to forging closer cooperation between the CIS states and highlighted the results of the efforts to promote relations between the countries. The head of state stressed the need to strengthen the economic foundations of the CIS and to adopt measures to remove trade barriers in the CIS.

The head of state lauded the measures to reform the CIS and update its conceptual documents. Nursultan Nazarbayev also spoke about trade and economic relations, transit and transport capabilities of all CIS member states to the full.

The president also informed the summiteers about the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), its opportunities and invited the CIS member states to take an active part in its work.
