Minsk to host OSCE-wide conference on combating terrorism in digital age on 9-10 October

MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – Minsk will host an OSCE-wide conference on combating terrorism in digital age on 9-10 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The legal framework, public-private partnership and protection of critical infrastructure will be in the spotlight of the conference.

A Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko is attending the international conference in Rome on 10-11 May . The conference is discussing the ways to mitigate the risks posed by foreign terrorist fighters returning from conflict zones to the OSCE area and beyond, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

At the opening of the conference Oleg Kravchenko laid out Belarus' experience in the field of combating terrorism focusing on the efforts taken by the country to identify persons related to terrorist activities, to prevent the financing of terrorism, to fight against terrorist ideology.

The deputy minister also informed the participants about the upcoming OSCE-wide conference on combating terrorism in digital age. The event is due in Minsk in October 2018.
