MFA: Great interest from foreign nationals to visa-free entry to Belarus

MINSK, 11 January (BelTA) – The launch of visa-free entry to Belarus has generated a great interest from foreign nationals, spokesman for Belarus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told BelTA.

“For the first time in its history, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a consular day in social networks on 10 January to provide answers to questions from as many people as possible,” Dmitry Mironchik said. “All in all, the audience that got familiar with the new visa-free entry rules and that got answers to the related questions reached more than 1 million people from a wide range of countries.”

BelTA reported earlier that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed decree No. 8 “On the introduction of the visa-free entry and departure for foreign citizens” on 9 January. The document introduces the visa-free entry through the border checkpoint at the Minsk National Airport and the visa-free stay in Belarus for up to 5 days for the citizens of 80 countries. The decree applies to 39 countries of Europe, including the entire European Union, Brazil, Indonesia, the USA, Japan, and other states.
