VIENNA, 30 January (BelTA) - Belarus is open to cooperation with Austria in a wide range of areas, Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the OSCE Oleg Kravchenko said at the 14th session of the Belarusian-Austrian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learned.

“Given the continuing modernization of many sectors of the Belarusian industry we need not only Austria's equipment and know-hows but also its experience in the field of legislation and management in individual branches of economy. We believe that the present moment creates additional incentives and opportunities for intensifying Belarusian-Austrian trade and investment interaction,” Oleg Kravchenko noted.

Oleg Kravchenko emphasized the recent positive changes in the relations between Belarus and the European Union, progressive development of the Eurasian Economic Union, and also the steps the Belarusian authorities are making to further liberalize the economy and create a favorable business climate.

The deputy minister believes that during the current meeting the parties need to outline the areas and “points of growth” to give a new impetus to bilateral economic cooperation, and also to develop results-oriented solutions.

The Belarusian representative expressed confidence that today's meeting will be held in a constructive spirit and an atmosphere of mutual understanding.
