MEPs to visit Minsk to discuss Belarus-EU cooperation

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - A delegation comprising five members of the European Parliament will pay an official visit to Minsk from 18 to 19 July, BelTA learned from the EU Delegation to Belarus.

The MEPs will meet with the Belarusian ministers and MPs to review the key matters of the EU-Belarus bilateral relations and the remaining obstacles to closer cooperation. The delegation is also expected to meet with representatives of Belarus' opposition and civil society, the EU Delegation in Minsk remarked.

The MEPs will be led by Chairman of the European Parliament's delegation for relations with Belarus Bogdan Zdrojewski. The delegation comprises Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, and German MPs representing four political groups of the European Parliament.
