MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with his Syrian counterpart Walid al-Muallem at the UN headquarters in New York. The parties discussed progress in the settlement of the Syrian crisis, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Walid al-Muallem briefed Vladimir Makei on the situation in Syria, and on some details of the agreements between Russia and the United States related to the settlement of the situation in the country,” the press service said.
The Belarusian diplomat expressed his support for the efforts aimed at peaceful resolution of the conflict in the interests of the Syrian people. Walid al-Muallem thanked Belarus for the provided humanitarian aid.
