Lukashenko: CIS has not exhausted its potential

MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – The Commonwealth of Independent States has, in no way, exhausted its potential, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when speaking at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.

“Integration processes within the Commonwealth of Independent States are going through difficult times today. We share the view that the CIS needs reforming. At the same time we consider it is important to save it as an international organization,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“The CIS has, in no way, exhausted its potential. The goal is to enhance economic interaction and make the CIS more attractive to its member states,” the President said.
