Lajcak: Relationship between EU and Belarus will be gradually improving

MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) - The relationship between the EU and its partners, including Belarus, will be gradually improving, Slovakia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak said during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

“We understand the importance of having better relations and are going to improve the relationship between the European Union and its partners, including Belarus. We will be building our relationship step by step and improving our contacts,” Miroslav Lajcak said. In his view, visits of ministers and bilateral meetings give a new impetus to economic contacts and new projects that will benefit all countries.

Miroslav Lajcak expressed the view that developing the agenda helps improve the relations between the EU and Belarus. “After ups and downs, we realize that we derive a great number of benefits from our partnership in a strategic perspective, and we fully support the communication with your state,” Miroslav Lajcak noted.
