Kobyakov congratulates Medvedev on his appointment as Russia's PM

MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov has congratulated Dmitry Medvedev on his appointment as Russia's Prime Minister, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

A telephone conversation took place between Andrei Kobyakov and Dmitry Medvedev upon the initiative of the Belarusian side on 8 May. Andrei Kobyakov congratulated his counterpart on his new term as Russia's head of government. The Belarusian Premier expressed confidence that the further work of Dmitry Medvedev in this capacity will contribute to successful social and economic development of Russia, rise in living standards of its citizens, improvement of Russia's image on the international arena, and expansion of fruitful cooperation between Belarus and Russia.

The parties discussed topical issues of the bilateral cooperation across various fields and the schedule of the forthcoming meetings.

At the end of the conversation Andrei Kobyakov congratulated Dmitry Medvedev on Victory Day.
