Khachaturov to visit CSTO member states ahead of Collective Security Council session in Minsk

MOSCOW, 22 August (BelTA) - CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov will visit the CSTO member countries ahead of the Minsk session of the Collective Security Council, CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.

“On 23-25 August, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Yuri Khachaturov will visit Kazakhstan. The trip will take place within the framework of a series of visits to the CSTO member states to discuss the preparations for the session of the Collective Security Council and the joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils which will take place in Minsk in the autumn 2017,” the spokesman said.

During the visit to Astana Yuri Khachaturov is scheduled to meet with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is also expected that the CSTO secretary general will hold talks with Aide to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Vladimir Zhumakanov, Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Defense Minister Saken Zhasuzakov.
