Hope for Spanish diplomatic mission in Minsk soon

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France and concurrently to Spain Pavel Latushko expressed hope that Spanish diplomats will soon start working in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“The inauguration of the Belarusian embassy in Madrid in December 2016 has given a massive boost to bilateral contacts. We hope that Madrid will soon send its diplomats to Minsk,” Pavel Latushko said.

The diplomat stated that Spain is one of the largest markets in the European Union. Belarus' export to this country grows by 20% every year. “This market may hold great prospects for Belarusian exporters,” the ambassador emphasized.

For the time being there is no Spanish embassy in Minsk. The country's interests in Belarus are represented by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Spain to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Ignacio Ybanez Rubio.
