France, Germany in favor of dialogue with Belarus to build stable Europe

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) - The House of Representatives hosted a meeting between Chairman of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs Valery Voronetsky and Florence Mangin, the Director of Continental Europe Directorate at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, and Andreas Pescke, an authorized representative of the German Foreign Ministry for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliament.

“It was emphasized that Belarus is a reliable partner of the EU and a donor of stability and security in the region. Interest was expressed in the further strengthening of pragmatic interaction with the European Union and in the expansion of bilateral cooperation with France and Germany. In turn, Florence Mangin and Andreas Pescke spoke in favor of developing the constructive dialogue in order to build a stable and secure Europe,” the press service informed.

During the open in-depth discussion of issues on the bilateral agenda, particular attention was paid to the activities of the Belarusian parliament to improve legislation in the field of investment and economic activities, suffrage, and also to the issue of the death penalty.
