European security situation discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Thomas Greminger, who had arrived in Belarus to participate in the Minsk dialogue forum Eastern Europe: In Search of Security for All, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During the meeting the sides discussed the situation in the area of security in the European region, problems in Belarus-OSCE bilateral interaction, progress in implementing joint projects, and the process of the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

Close attention was paid to the initiative of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to give a new impulse to the process of restoring mutual trust and reducing tensions in Europe.
