MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) - European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will visit Belarus on 17 October, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing on 12 October, BelTA has learned.
Johannes Hahn is scheduled to meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and other officials. “The parties will discuss the prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the EU in various fields, and the preparation for the Eastern Partnership summit due in Brussels in November this year,” Dmitry Mironchik said.
Earlier, when asked by BelTA, Vladimir Makei said that the decision on the level of Belarus' participation in the Eastern Partnership summit will be made in due time. “Of course, we will analyze all circumstances. High-ranking officials of the European Union are expected to visit Belarus in the near future,” the minister of foreign affairs said.More about Politics
