Estonian president voices interest in closer economic ties with Belarus

MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Estonia Vyacheslav Kachanov has handed over credentials to Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian diplomat informed the Estonian head of state about key aspects of Belarus-Estonia relations, bilateral trade prospects, accomplished and scheduled high-level visits and forthcoming international conferences in Minsk.

Kersti Kaljulaid emphasized the importance of expanding Belarus-Estonia dialogue at the official level and the level of civil society. She drew particular attention to prospects of the bilateral cooperation in information technology and digital government.

The Estonian president voiced interest in closer trade and economic ties and cultural contacts between the two countries.
