Equal conditions during Belarus president election, Gaidukevich says

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – All the candidates enjoyed equal conditions during the presidential election campaign in Belarus, BelTA learned from Sergei Gaidukevich, one of the candidates, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, on 12 October.

Sergei Gaidukevich noted: “I've said repeatedly that everyone was granted equal terms. Every candidate had his or her own Belarusian television operator from all the TV channels. It was excellent. In essence the election campaign was very reasonable. None of the presidential candidates made any sudden moves. Everyone understands that the country needs peace and order.”

“At this difficult time Belarusians didn't want to change anything in the country's leadership. It is good. It means that they are smart people. I've talked to many people, including the elderly and the youth. Everyone told me it is important for the election to proceed calmly without anything happening afterwards. Thank heavens, today nobody is roaming the streets. I confirm that the voter turnout was indeed excellent, we've been tracking it. I think it was a day of celebration for the country,” stressed Sergei Gaidukevich.
