MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Ecuador and Belarus are developing the legal framework of investment cooperation, Charge d'Affaires of Ecuador to Belarus Fernando Guzman said at a ceremony to lay flowers timed to Ecuador's Independence Day on 10 August, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat underlined that Ecuador is interested in rapprochement with Belarus, in particular in trade, economy and science. In his opinion, bilateral cultural collaboration is essential, too.
It was noted at the ceremony that 10 August 1809 is a historic date for Ecuador and for the whole continent. That was the day when Ecuador's first independent government took office, which initiated the independence movement in Latin American states.
The ceremony took place in Simon Bolivar Garden. Partaking in the event were representatives of ministries, departments, government bodies, diplomatic corps, and also public figures.
