Czech Foreign Minister in Belarus on a visit

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomir Zaoralek is on a visit to Belarus on 29-30 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On 30 June the Czech diplomat is set to hold talks with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei.

As BelTA earlier informed, the two ministers met on the sidelines of the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Group and the Eastern Partnership Countries in Prague in May 2016. The parties considered ways to expand the Belarusian-Czech cooperation and interaction between Belarus and the European Union.

The Czech Republic holds a stable spot in Belarus' top 30 export destinations. Belarus' exports to Czechia totaled $123 million in 2015. The exports, excluding oil, oil products and nitrogen fertilizers, made up $109.5 million. In 2015 Belarus sold 288 commodity items to the Czech Republic, 139 commodity items up from 2009.
