CSTO heads of state to meet in Minsk by yearend

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – The next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will take place in Minsk at the end of 2017, Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media after the meeting of the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council in Minsk on 17 July, BelTA has learned.

According to the minister, today's meeting discussed a wide range of issues that will be submitted for consideration at the next session of the Collective Security Council at the heads of state level. “The event will take place in Minsk at the end of the year,” Vladimir Makei said.

CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov stated that the meeting coordinated the documents that were considered at the previous meetings of the defense ministers and security secretaries.

“A declaration to mark the 25th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty and the 15th anniversary of the organization will be prepared for the next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council. The secretariat has already drafted the document which will be discussed and submitted to the heads of state,” he added.
