MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The next session of the contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine's east will take place in Minsk on 5 July, BelTA learned from the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine Martin Sajdik.
Martin Sajdik said that during the session on 21 June the sides noted the considerable amount of work that had been done in humanitarian affairs since the previous meeting. In particular, additional polls have been conducted to make sure whether after release POWs wanted to stay where they had been during captivity or not.
The working group on political affairs continued discussing matters relating to the so-called Steinmeier formula.
Asked about the USA's greater participation in resolving the conflict (the idea was mentioned during a recent meeting of Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko and USA President Donald Trump), Martin Sajdik remarked: “I welcome every effort meant to truly resolve the conflict.”
