CIS plans to delineate responsibilities between councils of heads of state and heads of government

MOSCOW, 20 July (BelTA) - The CIS plans to delineate the responsibilities between the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government. The draft resolution was discussed at a meeting of the Commission for Economic Affairs at the CIS Economic Council which was attended by Belarus' Plenipotentiary Representative, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko in Moscow on 19 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

Considerable attention was paid to the draft resolutions of the CIS Council of Heads of State to delineate the responsibilities between the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government, the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Economic Council, the press service noted

The participants in the meeting discussed a wide range of issues of social and economic development of the CIS member states, including the progress in the implementation of the treaty on free trade zone from 18 October 2011; preparations for the of population censuses in the CIS member states in 2020; the status of implementation of the radio-navigation development plan in the CIS member states for 2013-2017; the regulatory regimes in banking regulation and supervision.

The participants in the meeting also reviewed the draft protocol amending the agreement on rules determining the countries of origin in the CIS from 20 November 2009 and the amendments to the provision on the coordinating transport meeting of the CIS member states.

The next meeting of the commission is due in Moscow on 6 September.
