CIS integration advancement discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Sergei Antufyev, Acting Secretary General, Head of the Secretariat of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Vladimir Makei and Sergei Antufyev discussed matters concerning the advancement of integration in the Commonwealth of Independent States as well as several aspects of the work to adapt the CIS to the modern world conditions.

Vladimir Makei and Sergei Antufyev once again confirmed the importance of the parliamentary dimension for advancing integration relations. They discussed what needs to be done to fulfill the decision made by the CIS Heads of State Council in Sochi, Russia in October 2017 to improve the operation of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
