CIS Council of Interior Ministers to convene in Baku on 19-21 July

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – A session of the CIS Council of Interior Ministers will take place in Baku on 19-21 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Representatives of law enforcement bodies will review progress in implementing interstate crime prevention programs and analyze interaction between the police of the CIS member states. They will discuss cooperative efforts to combat new types of cybercrime committed on the territory of the CIS.

The council will consider giving a status of the CIS base organization in training cybercrime prevention specialists to the Kikot Moscow University of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia. The participants of the meeting will review the work on documents regulating deportation procedures.

The parties will sign a protocol on introducing amendments to the CIS cooperation agreement in combating vehicle theft. The press service noted that up till now such documents were signed exclusively at the session of the Council of Heads of Government. It is the first time the governments have authorized the interior ministers to sign these agreements.
