MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – A campaign has started in China to change the name of the Belarusian state in Chinese from “White Russia” and “Byelorussia” to “Belarus”, BelTA learned from the Twitter account of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy.
“Belarus is not White Russia,” the diplomat posted on Twitter.
The country's official name, the Republic of Belarus, is stipulated in the Constitution.
