Chief executive of Hong Kong to visit Belarus in 2019

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – The chief executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region plans to pay a visit to Belarus in 2019. The matter was discussed at the meeting of Belarus' Ambassador to China Kirill Rudy and Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats with Chief Executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam during the official visit of the Belarusian delegation to Hong Kong, BelTA learned from the embassy.

“The Hong Kong side took note of Belarus' active role in the Belt and Road initiative, and also accepted an official invitation to visit Belarus next year, expressed readiness for cooperation to prepare for it,” the embassy noted.

The parties also discussed the current and prospective agenda of cooperation between Belarus and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, reached agreements in investment cooperation and creation of favorable conditions for business, financial cooperation on issuing Belarusian bonds in Hong Kong, mutual facilitation of visa procedures and expansion of trade.
