Brussels to host Belarus-Belgium ministerial consultations

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – The ministries of foreign affairs of Belarus and Belgium will hold political consultations in Brussels on 27 September, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing on 21 September, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko. The Belgian delegation will be headed by Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anick Van Calster.

“The parties are expected to discuss a wide range of issues related to the bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, legal, consulate and humanitarian sectors. The parties will consider the prospects of developing the Belarusian-EU dialogue, including Belarus' participation in the EU Eastern Partnership initiative. The sides are set to exchange opinions on the regional and international agenda,” Dmitry Mironchik said.

While in Belgium, Oleg Kravchenko will meet with representatives of the executive structure of the EU and the European Parliament. He is also expected to take part in a conference to mark 25 years since Belgium established diplomatic relations with a number of states, including Belarus.
