MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) - Belgium hopes to intensify bilateral contacts with Belarus in the international arena, Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Didier Reynders said as he met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 15 March, BelTA has learned.
“We would welcome the intensification of bilateral contacts in the international arena. We would be grateful if Belarus supported Belgium's candidacy for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council for 2019-2020,” said Didier Reynders.
He also noted that the recent positive processes and reforms in the country have significantly contributed to the expansion of cooperation between Belarus and the EU. Didier Reynders expressed hope that such cooperation will continue.
