Belarusian MPs to visit Sudan

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – A Belarusian parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko will pay an official visit to Sudan from 13 to 16 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the parliament.

Vladimir Andreichenko is scheduled to meet with Sudan's top officials. “The sides will put special focus on bilateral cooperation in industry, mining, and strengthening the legal framework of bilateral relations,” the press service noted.

The parliamentary delegation will comprise representatives of large Belarusian companies.

In October, the House of Representatives ratified a Belarus-Sudan agreement of friendly relations and cooperation. The two countries agreed to boost mutually beneficial cooperation on equal terms in different fields, promote contacts between the parliaments and other elected bodies, and also interact in the United Nations and other international and regional organizations.

A working group on cooperation with Sudan has been set up in Belarus' National Assembly. The group is headed by MP Dmitry Shevtsov.
