Belarus wants fresh impetus to pan-European security dialogue

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Belarus calls for giving a new impetus to pan-European dialogue on security, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he opened the autumn session of the parliament on 2 October, BelTA has learned.

The speaker emphasized that countries should join efforts to secure a fairer world order and resolve persisting issues. “This idea underpinned the initiative of the Belarusian president to restart the Helsinki process. It is necessary to give a fresh impetus to the pan-European security dialogue and to work out measures to restore mutual trust and cooperation in the world,” the speaker noted.

“Pursuing a peaceful, multi-vector foreign policy, Belarus is consistently building equal and mutually beneficial relations with all countries both in the East and in the West. Our own example demonstrates that opting against sanctions and double standards brings obvious benefits to all participants of the international dialogue. Re-engagement with the European Union opened up new cooperation opportunities not only for Belarus, but also for our partners,” the Chairman of the House of Representatives said.
