Belarus views Germany as key partner in European region

MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Belarus views Germany as a key partner in the European region, Vladimir Makei, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs, said as he met with Michael Roth, Minister of State for Europe at Germany's Federal Foreign Office, on 13 March, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus views Germany as a key partner in the European region. We understand that Belarus is not on the list of Germany's top interests. However, we are convinced that there are more things that unite our countries than divide,” Vladimir Makei said. He stressed that Belarus is interested in developing relations with Germany in various areas.

For his part, Michael Roth said that he is happy to be in Belarus. The diplomat added that the program of his visit is very eventful, which provides him with opportunities to discuss the development of the relations between the two countries at various levels.

Vladimir Makei and Michael Roth exchanged messages of greetings from the ministers of foreign affairs of Belarus and Germany on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. They also visited a themed exhibition of archive documents and photos.
