MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Uzbekistan are interested in mutual support in international parliamentary organizations, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Nigmatilla Yuldoshev in Minsk on 12 June, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Andreichenko believes that the parliaments of the two countries should set up a friendship group and outline an action plan for the development of cooperation. Interaction in international organizations is among the promising areas, the speaker noted.
He recalled that Berlin will host another OSCE PA session in July. The Belarusian delegation has prepared a resolution on digital economy for the session. This resolution has already been supported by 18 states such as Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Vladimir Andreichenko noted and expressed hope that Uzbekistan will support it too. He also invited the Uzbek MPs to attend a conference of the OSCE PA Silk Road support group due in Minsk in May 2019.
Nigmatilla Yuldoshev noted that interparliamentary contacts should give proper depth to the interaction between the two countries, contribute to the development of the regulatory framework. Uzbekistan's parliamentarians supported the idea of elaborating a, plan of action for the cooperation with the Belarusian colleagues. Uzbekistan is interested in studying the work of the National Assembly and, in turn, also counts on its support in international parliamentary organizations, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis noted.More about Politics
