Belarus, USA discuss human rights once again

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Another annual dialogue on human rights between Belarus and the United States of America took place in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA has learned.

The sides discussed a broad range of matters relating to human rights, including the observance of human rights in Belarus and the USA. Interaction with international organizations on human rights was discussed, too.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko. The U.S. delegation was headed by Senior Bureau Official for the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Michael Kozak.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Internal Affairs Ministry, the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the Investigative Committee of Belarus, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus took part in the meeting as well as U.S. Chargé d'affaires Jenifer Moore, representatives of the U.S. Department of State and the USA embassy in Belarus.
